Vaporwave as a music genre and art movement is something that always nuanced and new despite it making heavy use of sampling and mixing.
While I don't agree with some aspects of the Art movement in particular (Internet Revivalism) and an unhealthy emphasis on nostalgia, I do think the people who make the soundtracks are, for the most part, the bee's knees.
That said, here's are my personal favorites and the most recent one I've been listening to a lot.
Arpwire.TV (youtube)(website)
I've checked their website and it's a trip. It's largely an Art Collective dedicated to everything involving Vaporwave and other Techno/EDM genres as well as a shop that sells video games consoles (both regular and modded) at prices when they first came out which is expensive as hell of course.
The channel is largely dedicated to one art-subgenre of Vaporwave and Aesthetics which is Frutiger Aero (A personal favorite aesthetic of mine)
My Most listened
It has become my go to music mix whenever I am surfacing on the net or drawing. I just love this song, and it features a personal favorite of mine from it which I'll put below:
I'd recommend their channel though I will say that despite their mission meant to be a means of celebrating old-tech, Classical Internet, and vaporwave, it's a bit ironic to see that they have an official discord (a modern-net based chat application) and while I did check to say that I like their stuff, I wanted to poke fun at this but given what happened to
Yesterweb, maybe it's for the better that I didn't.
