Returning To Production, Effort of Actualizing

Post by Fatswall »

Hi all, first post on the forum. A bit of context - I'm a musician, I've been producing, writing, and playing since I was a kid. I grew up making and uploading tracks on soundcloud. It slowed down once I was an adult and had responsibilities to uphold. I let my passion slide and focused on money. Neither here no there - I'm a perfectionist and I want to release a new album, my goal is to be as audibly unique as it can be, an evolution outside of digital production. Obviously you don't know my older music but maybe that helps.

This song in my untitled album, of unspecified length, is one of the most digitally produced songs so far. I was inspired by 'Nightmares On Wax - You Wish'. If you don't know it I recommend you give it a listen to get where my head space is. I've gone through a lot of rough drafts, and it still needs to be mastered of course, not done by any means - But I've got the core concept of the song laid down. I just need to fix some of the transitions, certain melodies, there's also the 'drop' part that I'm trying to deconstruct the sample so I can isolate and remove the drum track in it, I think it muddies the sound.

I'm open to recommendations, general CnC.

Here's another song I'm working on. The focus is more on folk and acoustic rock.
Still writing lyrics and all the other jazz for it, but let me know what y'all think.

Everything is played by me except for the drums (which idk if it counts if I lay down and make my own drum track idk lol)

Both of these sound like they're from games on the ps1 or from the early ps2, think Spyro the Dragon and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, quite nostalgic especially in the second song.
