What Goes Silently [wip novel]

This used to be a draft story idea I wrote when I was still in highschool. Years have gone by and I've decided to pick up the proverbial pen again.

This story is inspired by things like: Longmire, No Country For Old Men, Fargo (TV and movie).

I'm writing in a similar style to Cormac McCarthy, I've omitted the usage of quotation in my dialogue, letting the story read like an advanced screenplay. Everything is WIP and liable to change and revision of course.

The rough plot: 1969, northern rural Vermont. A sheriff and his two deputies a thrown into unraveling and preventing the schemes of two idealistic terrorist brothers from the FLQ, who operate primarily in Canada and in Montréal. Fourteen months from the current story, in real life the FLQ will enact their biggest attack of terror on Québec. The brothers in the story attempt to prove the FLQs goal is possible on a small scale by toppling towns south of the border. Sheriff Ward and his deputies as they learn act against this to prevent not only the town from falling to terror, but the story going national.
